This blog was founded (and basically ended) during the summer of 2011. Its purpose was to function as a travel blog, but really it was an extremely easy way to keep loved ones informed while I was off galavanting around France. After the end of that life-changing summer, however, this blog was soon forgotten.
Flash forward 2 years and quite a bit has changed. I have fallen in love, graduated from (Hendrix) college, started working on getting my masters in public history (UALR), found the practically perfect career, and have discovered my absolute love of cooking wholesome, natural, and magically delicious food.
All the while, I have been in Arkansas-my home sweet home. Though the past summers while I was in college were filled with adventures in Europe (thanks to Hendrix College), the first summer after graduation (2012) was spent, for once, in Arkansas. That summer was spent down in Washington, Arkansas…basically the-middle-of-nowhere-southwest-arkansas-kinda-close-to-Texas-not-really. Yeah…the majority of Arkansans don't even know where it is. Though it used to be a super power-it was the capital during the Civil War after the fall of Little Rock-Washington has since faded away into a quiet State Park and home of the Southwest regional archives. The summer at Washington was largely spent in isolation and reflection. Though that sounds like a downer, it was actually wonderful! I totally fell in love with Arkansas all over again, from the wonderful people and their history to the incredible natural wonders that can be found all over the state.
I learned a lot from that summer, but really I discovered what I wanted out from life and how I was going to have to change a lot in order to make that happen.
It's now nearing the end of a new summer. And although it has taken a while for me to understand, undertake, and tackle these changes that I wanted/want to make in my life, this process has brought me back to starting up this blog again. So here it goes again.
As a toast to revamping this blog:
here's to new beginnings,
new friendships, food to taste, places to discover,
living and loving life,
and endless adventures.
Cheers

So glad you're here!!!
